Bindelong Aboriginal Corporation offer a unique fully insured cultural, cool and ecological burning service designed to reduce fuel loads while enhancing the ecological values, restore healthy country and improve the cultural significance of the land.
Our approach is guided by cultural protocols and two-way knowledge, we utilise traditional Aboriginal fire practices with western fire management controls to deliver the safe implementation of ‘good’ fire into Country, while ensuring effective and meaningful outcomes for both Country and community.
Experienced Aboriginal Fire Practitioners
Our team is made up of fully qualified and highly experienced Aboriginal Fire Practitioners with practical knowledge and skills in both traditional burning techniques and western firefighting operations. Our senior fire practitioners have between 5-20 years’ experience implementing a variety of burns throughout different vegetation types working with the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, Forestry NSW, Local Aboriginal Land Councils, Local Government Authorities and the Rural Fire Service across:
- Suppressing wildfires protecting life and property.

Capacity Building
Bindelong Aboriginal Corporation work closely with local Aboriginal community organisations, corporations, local Aboriginal land councils and ranger teams to build the capacity of communities to safely revive traditional land management practices on their Country.
We provide practical knowledge, skills and experience in burn planning, site assessments, legislative requirements, and firefighting operations to ensure communities are fully equipped to continue to care for their Country.
